Hawaii Charter Fishing

Hawaii Charter Fishing

When you go on a vacation to relax, you probably don’t want to spend all your time lazing around. Ok, maybe you do. But if you'd like to add a little adventure to your relaxation, then you may want to glean some unforgettable experiences that will stay with you long after your tan has faded. A fishing trip in Hawaii on a chartered boat could be just what the doctor ordered.

The top priority in your preparation is your boat. Hawaii has many types of fishing boats to choose from, so selection options should not be a problem. However you need to ensure that you charter the right boat and crew for your own fishing needs. All boats must have passed certain checks and be seaworthy before you set off, but you can verify these details well before your time of departure.

As with anything, the cost of the fishing trip will depend on where you are and what type of fishing you wish to do. As a rough guide, the most expensive area on the Hawaiian islands tends to be Lahaina, and the cheapest is Kona; but of course it is up to you to determine your price range.

If the availability of the type of fish you hope to catch concerns you, speak with the crew beforehand and they will make sure you are in the best location for your preferences. Tell the crew in advance if you want to take home your catch at the end of the day, and they should be able to accommodate you. In fact most crews will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible to tailor the day to suit your interests.

You must remember however that you are only chartering the boat, not the fish. You may conceivably come home empty-handed, but that "risk" is all part of a day's fishing expedition. Some days you will reel in quite a few, while on others you may not do anywhere near as well; just make it a point to enjoy the day regardless of how many fish you catch.

There are some other considerations worth noting when chartering a boat. You must remember to bring supplies of your own. You will have tackle, etc. provided for you, but you must take your own food and drinks and a good sun block that is waterproof. This last item is essential, as the sun can become blisteringly hot on board a boat and there may be little in the form of shade for you to hide under.

To ensure there are minimal snags in your plans, it is best to arrange your trip before you head to Hawaii, and make sure you bring or purchase everything you need. Also, book your trip through a company that has a good reputation.

And if you are superstitious, do not bring bananas on board with you; they are considered very bad luck!

Hawaii Travel

Hawaii Travel. In a word or two It will be a fun time when I make my trip out to Hawaii for a vacation. Hawaii can be thought of as a destination but I tend to think of it as a fantasy dream. For years I have been seeing commercials and print about the beautiful islands. But what could I do with no money? not much. Well I finally saved up enough money to make my Hawaii travel a real Hawaiian vacation and I will be traveling first class. What a way to start a vacation, flying first class in a double-hulled 757. I think I will be able to wear my high heels considering how much leg room is available in first class. What to do? Where to visit? What sites to see? What activities to participate? These are all apart of the complicated decisions that stress a newbie traveler such as myself.
